Position Description:

CGI currently has an exciting opportunity to join CGI as a UI/UX Designer to expand our team.

Security clearance: Reliability Clearance granted or eligible (5 years residing in Canada)

Asset: Eligibility for secret clearance (10 years residing in Canada)

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Evaluating the UX (user experience) effectiveness of existing applications to inform design decisions.
Considering the human-centered element of design
Conducting user research and usability testing to inform future design decisions
Developing user research artefacts (e.g. personas and usage scenarios) through user research.
Running user testing of applications software and websites
Defining and communicating the user journey through clear interaction models storyboards sitemaps user task flows and UI (user interface) specifications
Working with design leads creative directors and/or visual designers to build maintain and incorporate visual consistency through robust design systems.
Translating business and user requirements into design solutions (e.g. prototypes and wireframes.)
Collaborating with developers (e.g. communicate design ideas) to ensure designs are followed.
Staying up to date with evolving design trends UX best practices and emerging technologies (e.g. designing for AI)

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

A minimum of 7years of IT industry experience
Experience designing accessible and human-centered user interfaces
Proficient with Figma
Communicate clearly and facilitate discussions workshops research
Understands agile/scrum and the idea of focusing work directly on the agreed upon goals
Can take a leadership role to propose to the Product Owner what UX Design activities we need to do and can help the junior/inexperienced members on the team
Someone who is able to work in a continuous product discovery environment where experiments and rapid prototyping are done for the purpose of designing a completely new and innovative service.
