Job Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NM Tech) is responsible for performing nuclear medicine PET and theranostic procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist. These diagnostic procedures are performed on both ambulatory and hospitalized patients as requested by a physician or licensed provider to aid in diagnosing diseases and injuries. The NM Tech must adhere to established protocols to ensure quality care and accurate results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nuclear medicine PET and theranostic procedures as directed by a licensed provider.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Follow established protocols for each specific procedure.
- Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and results.
- Prepare radiopharmaceuticals and maintain their proper storage and disposal.
- Monitor and assist patients during the imaging process.
- Work closely with radiologists and other medical professionals to interpret images and results.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated maintained and functioning properly.
- Provide excellent patient care and education regarding procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Certifications/License/Registration:
- ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT-N).
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist).
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
