CK QLS are recruiting on behalf of a leading global healthcare company for an experienced Senior Global Strategic Manager (SGSM) based in Allschwil Switzerland.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to take on a strategic leadership role within global clinical operations. The successful candidate will oversee strategic sourcing vendor management and governance activities that support the delivery of global clinical studies (Phases 14). You will act as a trusted sourcing expert collaborating across multiple functions to drive operational excellence ensure compliance and optimise cost effectiveness in outsourced partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a strategic sourcing subject matter expert to study teams and senior stakeholders.
- Lead vendor selection contract negotiation and budget management for outsourced clinical services.
- Develop and maintain cost forecasts and financial projections for global clinical programs.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to vendor performance timelines and quality.
- Ensure sourcing activities comply with ethical legal and corporate standards.
- Lead and mentor sourcing managers deputising for senior sourcing leadership when required.
- Participate in and oversee vendor governance committees to ensure alignment and accountability.
Your Background- Bachelors degree or higher in Life Sciences Business Administration or a related discipline.
- 7 years experience in strategic clinical sourcing or vendor management within the pharmaceutical biotech or CRO industry.
- Proven record as the lead sourcing professional for multiple late-phase (Phase 34) clinical studies.
- Strong experience in third-party selection negotiation and contract execution (including MSAs and Service Agreements).
- In-depth understanding of the clinical development process and operational cost models.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in a global multicultural environment.
- Experience in mentoring leadership or governance roles is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
