About the Opportunity
A fast-growing HR-tech and talent solutions company operating in the recruitment technology sector is hiring a remote PostgreSQL DBA Intern to support production and development database environments. This remote internship (India) offers hands-on exposure to database administration performance tuning backup and recovery and reliability engineering for business-critical applications.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day PostgreSQL operations: monitor health respond to alerts and investigate incidents for remote database clusters.
- Perform backups and restores using pgdump/pgrestore and maintain automated backup schedules and retention policies.
- Assist in replication and high-availability setup including troubleshooting streaming replication and failover scenarios.
- Work with senior DBAs to analyze slow queries create and maintain indexes and apply VACUUM/ANALYZE best practices to improve query performance.
- Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards and runbooks; document standard operating procedures for routine maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to automate database provisioning and configuration using scripts and version control.
