Job Summary

This is a remote position.

The Remote Data Entry Associate will support Sunrift Adventures back-office operations by accurately entering updating and maintaining various data including inventory records order details customer profiles rental transactions and vendor information. As a key part of our team you will ensure that the data driving our retail rental and e-commerce operations is up-to-date reliable and accessible enabling our store teams in store and online to operate smoothly and serve outdoor enthusiasts effectively. Sunrift has been operating since 1980 and is known for its expert staff and premium gear for hiking cycling paddling and more.



Key Responsibilities

  • Enter update and maintain data in company systems (inventory management POS records rental logs customer/vendor databases) with high accuracy and in a timely manner.

  • Review source documents (shipments purchase orders invoices rental agreements) and verify completeness and correctness before data entry.

  • Reconcile and correct discrepancies or duplicate entries and flag issues for follow-up with store rental or vendor teams.

  • Maintain spreadsheets and database tools create reports summarizing key metrics (e.g. inventory levels rental usage order fulfillment status) and submit regular updates to management.

  • Collaborate with on-site staff at Sunrift (store rentals inventory) to gather needed information and ensure remote data reflects real-time activities.

  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information (customer details vendor pricing) and comply with company data security policies.

  • Support ad-hoc administrative tasks such as scanning and archiving digital documents organizing cloud-based folders and assisting with periodic data-clean-up projects.

  • Suggest improvements to data-entry workflows and collaborate with the team to streamline processes reduce errors and increase efficiency.




Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in business office technology or data management is a plus.

  • Proven experience in data entry administrative tasks or remote support rolespreferably in a retail inventory or rental-driven environment.

  • Excellent typing speed (50 words per minute preferred) with strong accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets) experience navigating databases and ability to learn new software/tools quickly.

  • Strong organizational skills ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a remote environment.

  • Reliable internet connection and comfort working from home communicating via email chat or video with on-site teams.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skillsable to coordinate with store and rental staff ask clarifying questions and follow up when needed.

  • Passion for the outdoors and familiarity with outdoor gear/retail is a plus (aligns with Sunrifts mission and culture).

Required Skills:

Friendly energetic with strong communication and listening skills. Passionate about the outdoors; experience or comfort with outdoor gear is a plus. Detail-oriented; able to multitask and work efficiently even during busy times. Reliable punctual and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Able to lift equipment (e.g. boxes or gear) up to moderate weight (e.g. 40-50 lbs) safely. Comfortable standing for long periods and moving around the store.
