About the Role:

As a Specialist Category Management you will play a key role in supporting the strategic and operational outcomes across the mining equipment category by leading sourcing initiatives market analysis supplier engagement and procurement activities with a focus on cost optimisation risk mitigation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities may include:

• Assist in developing and executing sourcing strategies for mining equipment maintaining key documentation supplier profiles and spend data.
• Prepare RFQs evaluate supplier responses and support negotiations purchase orders and contract administration in line with company policies.
• Build strong supplier relationships gather product and service insights monitor performance and escalate issues as needed.
• Oversee key OEM agreements including KPI reporting quarterly reviews dispute resolution and rise-and-fall provisions.
• Partner with operations maintenance finance and HSE teams to align procurement with business needs and present category performance updates.
• Provide procurement support and guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient processes.

What Youll Need to Succeed

• Education & Experience: A Degree in Supply Chain Business Engineering or related field is highly regarded.
• Core Skills: 5 years experience in strategic procurement or category management within the mining or heavy industries with knowledge of mining equipment markets and supplier landscape.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities combined with outstanding negotiation skills and a strong understanding of mining/construction industry standards. Proficiency in systems like JD Edwards and strong technical capabilities are essential alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Were looking for an individual who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The ability to adapt to challenges work cohesively with internal and external stakeholders and manage diverse priorities will be key to success in this role.
