A junior accountant is an entry-level position within the accounting department of a company or organization. They are responsible for assisting with a variety of financial tasks such as:
- Maintaining and updating financial records: This includes recording transactions posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Analyzing financial data: This involves identifying trends and patterns in financial information to provide management insights.
- Accounts payable and receivable: This includes processing invoices managing payments and collecting debts.
- Aging Reports: Prepare aging reports for Accounts payable and Accounts receivables.
- Monthly Closing: Reconcile customers and suppliers balances.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in processing supplier invoices and ensuring accuracy in entries
- Help in performing 3-way matching (PO receipt invoice)
- Support the preparation of payment batches and bank transfers
- Assist in maintaining vendor files and records
- Help reconcile AP accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status or missing documents
- Assist in month-end closing activities and reporting
- Handling Cash out as petty Cash reconciliation
Qualifications :
- 1 to 2 years experience as an Accountant.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including V-lookup and pivot tables.
- Experience with general ledger functions.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Bachelor degree in Accounting Finance or relevant degree.
- English Fluency is a MUST!
- Microsoft Excel (vlookup pivot tables basic formulas).
