As the system architect builder and operator youll lead backend engineering projects end-to-end. Youll be trusted to own delivery while tapping into internal and external support as needed. Its a high-trust culture that rewards autonomy pragmatism and engineering craftsmanship.

Most projects are Sydney-based with some travel to Melbourne and Singapore. Work spans across advanced financial services medtech and scaling tech platforms.

This is not a web-dev or app-skinning role. Were looking for a software engineer who ships clean production-grade cloud-native systems - combining the depth of systems design with the pace of delivery consulting.

Ideal Candidate:

• 35 years experience as a backend-focused Software Engineer

• Deep experience with containerised systems: Docker Kubernetes

• Solid exposure to distributed systems and event-driven architectures

• Strong database and messaging experience: Postgres MongoDB Kafka RabbitMQ

• Comfortable working across AWS/GCP/Azure (ideally more than one)

• Fluent in TypeScript/ or similar (Java Go Rust Kotlin all welcome)

• Python exposure is a bonus especially for scripting or cross-functional work

• Pragmatic polished and delivery-oriented
