The mission of the Secretary of States office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting securing and communicating information that enhances commerce ensures the integrity of Louisianas elections and preserves presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisianas operations and its recorded history.
The Museum Division of the Secretary of State is seeking a Police Officer 1 2 or 3 in the security section of the Old State Capitol.
Minimum Qualifications
No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.
Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Routine patrols of assigned areas of the museum and enforcement of rules and regulations.
Greet employees and guests.
Remain vigilant to potential threats to persons and property.
May serve as shift supervisor in the absence of the Police Sergeant.
May work special assignments involving large crowd control.
Monitor security systems and surveillance systems.
Compiles daily activity logs.
