Job Summary
After-school Teacher
After-school teachers are responsible for the education and care of children in an after-school program. Their duties include developing a comprehensive curriculum and planning daily activities. They also interact with parents and other staff members to create a safe and fun learning environment for children.
- Ensure the health safety and well-being of children in the program by providing close supervision of children during all activities.
- Promote exploration creativity and discovery and stimulate each childs individual development.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
- Work cooperatively with other teachers
- Preparing materials and maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment.
- Ensure that all Bank Street College New York City Department of Health/Bureau of Day Care and New York City Department of Education CACFP guidelines followed
- Other duties as assigned by Director
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or general equivalency diploma required
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Experience working with preschool children in a child care setting and managing a classroom preferred
- Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team as well as develop skills in working with individual children small groups and the whole class
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Hours: 3:00-5:30 P.M. Monday-Friday
Position is part time: up to 14 hours per week
Pay: $19.2/Hr
