Responsibilities
Position Purpose: Join the Automation & Containers team to build run and continuously improve our Kubernetes-based platform. Youll handle the usual operational support while driving platform evolution -scalability performance automation and a great developer experienceso delivery is fast secure and auditable by default.
Primary duties will include:
- Operate and evolve Kubernetes (Rancher/RKE2 or AKS): upgrades scaling performance tuning cost/capacity management backup/restore and HA patterns.
- Design automation and golden paths: Terraform modules Helm/Kustomize templates reusable GitHub Actions workflows and self-service onboarding.
- Implement and maintain GitOps with Argo CD: digest-pinned deployments policy-as-code image signing/SBOM drift detection safe rollbacks.
- Harden CI/CD: environment protections approvals OIDC-based cloud access immutable audit trails; keep pipelines fast and compliant.
- Manage supply chain & registries (ACR): immutability vulnerability scanning promotion strategies.
- Own observability for the platform (Datadog/Prometheus Graylog/Splunk): SLOs dashboards actionable alerts and capacity hygiene (incl. ephemeral storage/emptyDir).
- Partner with dev/infra teams on onboarding troubleshooting runbooks and incident response; participate in an on-call rotation.
- Uphold security & compliance guardrails (RBAC secrets management SoD change controls) without slowing delivery.
Qualifications
To land this role you will need:
- 3 years in Platform/SRE/DevOps roles with production Kubernetes experience.
- Hands-on with GitOps and modern CI/CD (example: Argo CD GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps).
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) packaging (Helm/Kustomize) and solid Linux/networking fundamentals.
- Scripting for automation (Bash and/or Python); comfortable with YAML-first workflows.
- Experience operating logging/metrics/tracing stacks and troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
What makes you stand out:
- Rancher/RKE2 or AKS depth; policy-as-code (Kyverno/Gatekeeper); cosign image signing & SBOM (Syft/CycloneDX).
- ACR governance artifact promotion and immutable tagging; self-hosted runner hardening.
- Exposure to SOX/SOC-aligned CI/CD controls and evidence practices.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a combination of education and/or equivalent experience.
