About the role:
Were looking for a Data Engineer (MidSenior Level /Tech Lead) to join our growing Melbourne-based team. This is a hybrid role offering exposure to enterprise-scale data platforms and the opportunity to work across modern cloud technologies.
Youll play a hands-on role in designing and building scalable data pipelines cloud data solutions and data models that support critical reporting and analytics functions. If you enjoy solving real business problems with elegant technical solutions and collaborating in cross-functional teams this is the role for you.
About you:
To be successful in this role youll need:
- Proven experience in Data Engineering within cloud environments
- Strong skills across:
- Snowflake cloud data warehousing
- Azure data services and infrastructure
- DBT data modelling and transformation
- Python scripting data wrangling automation
- SQL advanced queries and performance tuning
- A solid understanding of data architecture ELT/ETL pipelines and performance optimisation
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders
- Experience delivering projects in an agile fast-paced environment
Youll be at an advantage if you also have:
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for orchestration
- Exposure to Databricks for advanced analytics or big data pipelines
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience (for Tech Lead candidates)
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for automation and best practices
