Job Summary

The Mammography Technologist performs advanced breast imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients under the general supervision of a Radiologist. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging for the diagnosis of disease and injury following established protocols and ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms as ordered by physicians or licensed providers.
• Ensure imaging quality safety and patient confidentiality.
• Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Operate mammography and related imaging equipment in accordance with protocol.
• Collaborate with Radiologists nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards (ARRT ACR state and federal requirements).
• Ensure equipment is clean maintained and functioning properly.
• Provide education to patients about the procedure and answer any questions they may have.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mammography.
• Certifications/Licensure:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required upon hire or within 30 days.
  • MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist): Licensed by the Texas.
  • ARRT-R: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography certification.
  • ARRT-M: Mammography certification.
