Responsibilities
The Town of Paradise one of the fastest growing Municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking Full-Time Seasonal Equipment Operators. Under the general direction of the Forepersons this position is accountable for the operation of the Towns fleet of equipment including but not limited to: front end loader backhoe dump trucks ice control units snow clearing equipment and other motorized equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of High School or equivalent is required;
- A valid Class three (3) Drivers License with 08 and 09/09A endorsements for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador (abstract required);
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in operating heavy equipment is required;
- Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program is considered an asset;
- Previous experience in the operation of drop frame side loaders would be considered an asset;
- The successful candidate must be available as required and upon occasion this may mean long or unusual hours;
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with tact and diplomacy;
- Must be able to perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
This is a unionized position working 40 hours per week. The salary for this position is based on an annual salary of $71639.22 as per the Collective Agreement. If this position interests you the deadline to apply is September 11 2025.
