Survey Instrument Operator

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Survey Instrument Operator to join our surveying this role youll support a wide range of public and private sector projects by performing construction stakeout topographic boundary and ALTA surveys. Youll work closely with the Survey Party Chief and utilize modern equipment to collect verify and record precise measurements that form the foundation for design and construction.

Responsibilities:

Perform construction stakeout preliminary topographic boundary ALTA and other types of surveys.
Operate and maintain a variety of surveying instruments to measure and verify elevations angles and distances.
Perform mathematical calculations to establish and locate reference points property corners and control points for line and grade staking.
Read and interpret maps plats blueprints and project specifications.
Clean calibrate and adjust survey instruments to ensure accuracy.
Assist and occasionally oversee field survey operations in the absence of the Survey Party Chief.

Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating survey instruments or related field experience preferred.
Working knowledge of land and construction survey methods and procedures.
Ability to operate maintain and troubleshoot survey instruments.
Proficiency in performing algebraic geometric and trigonometric calculations.
Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
Physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing for extended periods (up to 12 hours on occasion).
Ability to bend stoop kneel climb and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Three years survey instrument operation or related experience involving the accurate and precise measurement of land areas boundaries and topographical features using optical electronic measuring devices.
