2-hour (paid) onboarding orientation combined with ongoing training aimed at gaining exposure to all classrooms to understand Tenacres student routines better
$200/day ($25/hour)
Daily free chef-prepared lunch and an opportunity to have recess with students to get to know them better and establish a rapport with them
Excellent system of communication with teachers to ensure you achieve success
Detailed sub plans and always a friendly teacher close by to answer any questions you may have
A strong feeling of respect among Tenacre faculty and staff members. Everyone in the school knows all of our substitute teachers names and is happy and quick to help out.
Bustling staff lounge with all-day coffee and snacks
Flexibility is celebratedyou do not have to commit to being available every day

Qualifications:

Fluency in Spanish and conversational proficiency in English
Successful candidates will have some experience teaching effective and respectful class management skills be team-oriented and possess flexibility and a strong work ethic
Experience with Google Docs and Google Classroom is helpful but not required as we will provide training to successful candidates.
Bachelors degree required

Responsibilities:

Provide instruction in Spanish to elementary students when the regular teacher is unavailable
Substitute teachers are expected to deliver lessons prepared by Tenacre Country Day School faculty organize the classroom environment and establish routines that support childrens learning.
Additional duties will be assigned including lunch/recess and dismissal.
Short-term (1-3 hours/day) and all-day substitute teachers are needed. Tenacre offers highly competitive per diem rates a flexible schedule and a welcoming community. New college graduates are encouraged to apply.
