Mounds Park Academy is a PreK-12 independent school in Saint Paul MN that serves approximately 575 students from throughout the Twin Cities area. Since 1982 Mounds Park Academy has engaged students in a rigorous college preparatory experience that is demanding but not draining and goes far beyond memorization. Mounds Park Academy seeks a part-time Long Term Substitute Upper School Science teacher with experience in Chemistry. This position includes implementing existing curriculum to teach a single section of laboratory based Upper School Chemistry from January 5 - April 3 2026. We seek individuals with experience in teaching high school age students with one or more degrees in a Science related subject or with equivalent educational or professional teachers at MPA are responsible for providing a classroom instructional program that supports the individual needs of all students in accordance with the schools mission and values.

Responsibilities Include:

• Teach one section of Upper School Chemistry daily from 8 - 9:15 AM.
• Incorporate hands-on lab based approach to teaching and learning science
• Emphasize critical thinking through content research and analysis
• Make science relevant and meaningful by inspiring students
• Implement diverse lesson plans and chemistrycurriculum provided by the Department
• Supervise encourage counsel and evaluate students

• Foster and sustain an effective classroom environment that fosters open discussion with the freedom to express varied points of view
• Utilize and incorporate available academic technology for instruction

• Communicate and meet with students and parents when requested
• There is a possibility that this position could be expanded to include two (2) sections of Anatomy & Physiology January 5 January 16 2026 for a candidate with appropriate experience.

Qualifications and Experiences Required:

• Bachelors degree in one or more Science related subjects
• Masters Degree or equivalent preferable (keep - )
• Experience teaching Chemistry preferable
