As a Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) heres a big-picture view of what youll do:
- Perform under the direction and supervision of the treating occupational therapist and in accordance with the plan of care.
- Assist the treating occupational therapist in documenting a patients progress and response to treatment.
- Teach task-oriented therapeutic activities designed to restore physical and sensory-integrative function.
- Communicate with the supervising occupational therapist as well as other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team providing care to the patient in order to promote coordination of care.
- Visually and aurally observe and assess the patient.
- Participate in quality and performance improvement measures.
A few must-haves for Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA):
- Current licensure as aCertified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA) in the start of Arizona.
- Minimum of two (2)years of certifiedoccupational therapy assistantexperience ideally in home healthcare
- CPR Certification (demonstration course required)
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Card
- Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
- Good clinical judgment strong interpersonal skills resourceful and compassionate
