Work you will do

We seek a technically solid Legal Manager who can work independently while functioning well with a team who is serious about building a career in-house with a top-tier organization.

In this role you will cover the SEA region while being based in your local country of residence and report directly to the head of the legal team in Singapore. You will play an important part in dealing with contractual and legal risk across the Audit & Assurance and Tax & Legal business units in SEA.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support negotiations in a broad range of commercial contracts with internal and external clients and suppliers such as regional and global engagement arrangements confidentiality agreements referrals teaming and sub-contracting arrangements and tenders.
• Support the legal and risk teams in advising on drafting reviewing and negotiating on vanilla novel and complex commercial matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist in the creation implementation and maintenance of legal policies guidelines and templates.
• Remain updated on legal developments that affect or potentially affect Deloittes businesses and continue to develop best practices tailored to Deloittes business needs.

Requirements:

• A recognized law degree from an established university and qualified in Malaysiaand/or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or experience in a good in-house legal team preferably with a focus on contracts and broad commercial work. Prior experience in professional services or IT industries is desirable.
• Fluency in English including proficiency in reviewing and drafting legal documents in both languages is mandatory.
• A good understanding of risk management and commercial practices.
• Ability to engage confidently and effectively with different people across different seniorities expertise roles and culture.
