Patient Care Technician (Part-Time)

We are currently looking to add a Part-time Patient Care Technician at the Wolfe Surgery Center in West Des Moines.

The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for a blend of many duties within the Surgery Center.

Responsibilities include:

Clerical
-Putting patient charts and discharge instruction packets together
-Dissembling charts after discharge
-Data entry
-Calling physicians offices for History and Physical Examination information

Patient Care
-Help patients to restrooms.
-Obtaining vital signs or EKG and reporting results to nursing staff.
-Under the direction supervision of the nursing staff obtain blood glucose levels patient urine HCG and admissions/discharge of patients.
-Helping with OR room set-up and turnovers.
-Transporting patients.

Housekeeping
-Stocking rooms daily and checking supplies
-Assisting the OR with room turnovers and setups.
-Properly disinfecting stretchers chairs bedside tables and monitors.
-Changing wall suction containers and/or needle boxes as needed.
-Remove linen/trash from recovery room and bringing it to the proper receptacle.

One year of Medical Experience is required-CNA CMA and EMTs are encouraged to apply.
