We are searching for one Visiting Scientist to embark on a transformative 3-month journey with our Research team based in Seville Spain. Bristol Myers Squibbs Center for Innovation and Translational Research Europe (CITRE) R&D site based in Seville Spain brings together computational clinical and translational research teams to redefine drug development. This paid internship would run from the 1st of April through the 30th of June 2026 and will require physical presence at CITRE in Seville.

In this role you will have the opportunity to learn grow and contribute to the development of therapies that change lives. We are searching for creative thinkers who are ready to dive into an interdisciplinary adventure blending technology and science to redefine what is possible.

The project

You will contribute to a multidisciplinary project focused on developing and applying advanced methodologies including single-cell RNA sequencing and next-generation sequencing. The goal is to analyze and compare gene expression profiles in healthy and patient-derived primary samples both before and after treatment with internal compounds.

Who you are

  • You are currently enrolled in a master or doctoral program in molecular biology genetics biotechnology or a related field (beyond year one) and are eager to apply your knowledge in a practical real-world setting
  • You are fluent in English and capable of discussing scientific and technical topics
  • You enjoy working in a laboratory environment designing experiments and being involved in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Previous hands-on experience in wet lab work molecular biology NGS or single cell RNA seq is desirable but not strictly required.

Desirable skills

Different skills may be desirable but not strictly required.

  • Experience with wet lab work and molecular biology basic tools such as PCR DNA/RNA extraction as well as with living cells and biological specimens.
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing methodologies and single cell RNA seq.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a research environment.
  • Ability to create clear and informative laboratory journals to document experimental procedures as well as to report and present findings.
  • Willingness to learn bioinformatics tools and to dive into data analysis and interpretation.
