Job Description
CNC Programmer / CNC Machinist / CNC Applications Engineer required to join a leading engineering company based in Houston TX.
The CNC Programmer / CNC Machinist will be responsible for designing developing and optimizing CNC programs to support efficient high-quality manufacturing processes. This role involves interpreting engineering drawings creating G-Code using GibbsCam and NX CAM software and developing standardized machining practices to improve safety productivity and quality. The position requires strong CAD/CAM skills knowledge of CNC lathes and mills and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
The CNC Programmer / CNC Machinist will work closely with the shop floor to ensure accurate setups troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements while maintaining compliance with specifications and quality requirements.

Responsibilites
Create 3D models for new and existing products from engineering drawings.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical data to determine tooling control settings machining methods and operational sequences.
Design create and implement CNC programs including improvements in tooling machine processes fixturing and new tool platforms.
Develop standardized machining processes to improve cost quality and delivery.
Support and collaborate with shop personnel by monitoring first articles assisting with setups providing tooling information and troubleshooting issues.
Research new machining methodologies and tooling for process improvement.
Develop machining practices that increase safety while reducing setup times and non-conformances.
Generate efficient G-Code programs using GibbsCam and NX CAM software.
Drive continuous improvement of machining processes to exceed goals for safety quality and delivery.
Maintain a safe clean and organized work environment in line with safety policies.

Requirements
5 years related experience in CNC programming and machining.
Proficient in GibbsCam NX CAM and SolidWorks.
Ability to read and interpret engineering prints including GD&T.
Skilled in adjusting feeds speeds tooling and analyzing M & G code programs.
Knowledge of CNC lathes live tooling lathes and 4-axis mills with Fanuc or Mitsubishi controls.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers calipers indicators).
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. with the ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol testing background check and physical performance evaluation.
