Job Summary:

Rakuten is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented University Recruiting Intern to join our team for the spring 2026 semester. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in campus recruiting and talent acquisition. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting our campus event schedule as well as student engagement and outreach to ensure a seamless experience for potential candidates.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Rakuten at virtual and in-person campus events (i.e. information sessions career fairs etc.) engaging with students and promoting our brand and opportunities.
  • Manage communication to potential candidates via our recruiting listserv intern alumni newsletter and university recruiting email address.
  • Manage university recruiting brand merch ensuring all event supplies are organized inventoried and ready for use.
  • Coordinate the shipping and receiving of event supplies to and from various campus locations.
  • Assist with posting job roles on the Handshake platform and other relevant job boards.
  • Support early preparation of summer intern program events.



Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program preferably in Human Resources Business Administration Marketing Communications or a related field.
  • Strong Organizational Skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with the Handshake platform is a plus.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources is a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in progress

This is a part-time position with a minimum of 25 hours/week. The anticipated dates for this internship are January 12 2026 April 17 2026. Pending success this internship may be extended through August 2026.

At the time of posting Rakuten expects the hourly rate for this role will be between $20 - $25 per hour. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors including the skills qualifications and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
