The Service & Team:
These are new innovative roles working on the Youth Transformation Pilot. The Youth Transformation Pilot (YTP) is part of the newly developed Early Support Service and is a 12 month Pilot funded by the Department of CultureMedia & Sport
The Role:
The Area Youth Worker / Youth Support Worker will be responsible for working alongside partners to develop a virtual Youth Hub for their area and bringing together Voluntary & Community Youth organisations and services working with young people ( Aged 13 -19 yrs up to 25 yrs for SEND). This Hub will be responsible for developing the Youth Offer for their area.
In addition the Area Youth Worker will establish an Area Forum to give young people a voice and to actively engage them in co-designing new initiatives introduced through the Pilot. There is also an expectation to collaborate with one Pilot School in the area to develop thematic group work for young people. This role will require regular evening work. The Area Youth Worker will be a part of the Transformation Pilot Team and will work alongside the Digital Youth Workers FIS Youth Worker and the Professional Lead for Youth Work. This is a public/customer-facing role where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.
Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday 37 hours a week with the regular evening work within the working week
What youll need to succeed:
JNC Level 6 qualification or JNC 2-4 qualification with considerable experience of working with teenagers / young people in an informal education setting
