ABOUT THE ADULT EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER:

The Adult Emergency Department is a level one trauma center and comprehensive stroke center located in Bostons South End. The collective years of experience within the walls of our ED creates an environment of innovation collaboration and teamwork. POSITION SUMMARY:
As an RN in the Adult Emergency Department you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

DEPARTMENT: Adult Emergency Department

SCHEDULE: Full and Part Time Positions Available

SHIFT: Day/Evening Rotation and Night Shifts Available

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver nursing care in the Adult Emergency Department including assessing diagnosing planning intervening evaluating and educating patients

Communicate with various health care team members patients and their families

Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues

Update and manage patient records

Enter and interpret computerized data/information

Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCs nursing organization

Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the ability to obtain a MA RN License

1 years of ED RN experience required

Certification in basic life support (BLS) required

TNCC required or obtained prior to start date

Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required

Nursing degree: Diploma ASN or BSN (preferred) Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification required for certain practice areas

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Physical ability to meet job responsibilities

Basic computer proficiency

Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range:

$38.05- $75.33

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
