Title: RN Wound Care
Job Location: Brooklyn NY
Duration: 13 weeks (extendable)
Shift: 12*3 Nights
Pay rate: $4018 (Weekly Gross)
Education:
Associates Degree (ASN ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program.
Responsibilities:
Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience with wound and colostomy care.
Develop revise and evaluate standards of care while assisting in the selection of supplies technology and equipment.
Assess and document patient responses to wound care ostomy continence fistula and complex wound treatments.
Evaluate the quality and delivery of care provided by the clinical staff on the unit.
Collaborate with the healthcare team and make referrals to other disciplines as needed.
Educate and counsel patients and families on wound ostomy and continence care and prevention.
Provide and evaluate staff education programs including new employee orientation and in-service training.
Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients at risk of pressure injuries and implement preventive measures.
Communicate and escalate any challenges ethical concerns or conflict resolution issues.
Work closely with the Assistant Director of Nursing for Wound Care to recommend and implement best practices.
Participate in unit and hospital-wide quality improvement activities such as incidence and prevalence studies.
Deliver culturally competent patient family and staff education consistent with diverse beliefs and values.
Maintain security and confidentiality of patient data and comply with patient rights policies.
Engage in professional development to maintain clinical competency.
Identify community resources and assist patients in accessing them.
Manage and track equipment assets including specialty beds and negative pressure devices.
Certifications:
New York State RN License
AHA BLS
Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) WOCNCB
Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) WOCNCB
Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) WOCNCB
Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) ABWM
