Job Summary
Job Title: South Indian Cook
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate South Indian Cook to prepare authentic and flavorful South Indian dishes. The ideal candidate should have expertise in traditional cooking methods an eye for presentation and the ability to manage a busy kitchen environment. This role demands efficiency hygiene and consistency in taste and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare a variety of authentic South Indian dishes including dosa idli vada sambar rasam chutneys rice varieties and curries.
Maintain taste texture and consistency across all preparations.
Monitor inventory and inform management of required ingredients and supplies.
Ensure proper food handling hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards as per FSSAI or HACCP norms.
Maintain accurate records of food production wastage and kitchen cleaning schedules.
Collaborate with kitchen staff and ensure timely food preparation during peak hours.
Prepare meals in accordance with customer preferences and dietary restrictions when applicable.
Plan and assist in buffet or la carte menus festivals or special food promotions.
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum 10th or 12th pass; Diploma or Certification in Culinary Arts is preferred.
Proven experience (1 3 years) as a South Indian Cook in a hotel restaurant or catering setup.
Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and standard recipes.
Skills Required:
In-depth knowledge of traditional South Indian ingredients and cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple orders.
Strong sense of taste presentation and portion control.
Time management and team coordination skills.
Basic understanding of hygiene food safety and kitchen sanitation practices.
