Senior Architectural Technologist

A prominent architectural firm is seeking an accomplished Senior Architectural Technologist to join their dynamic team in Cape Town. Responsibilities:

• Develop and produce detailed architectural drawings and documentation from concept through to construction.
• Oversee and manage architectural projects ensuring they are completed on time within budget and to a high standard.
• Ensure all designs and documentation comply with building regulations local by-laws and other statutory requirements.
• Mentor and lead junior technologists and drafters providing guidance on technical and design challenges.
• Collaborate with architects engineers clients and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct site inspections and reviews to maintain quality control and adherence to design specifications.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the design and construction phases.

Requirements:

• A B-Tech or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology.
• Minimum of 8-10 years post-qualification experience in a professional architectural environment.
• Proven senior-level experience in the management and delivery of large-scale commercial residential or mixed-use projects.
• Expert-level proficiency in industry-standard CAD/BIM software (e.g. Revit AutoCAD ArchiCAD).
• Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of National Building Regulations (NBR) and relevant local authority submission processes.
• Excellent technical detailing and construction documentation skills.
• SACAP professional registration as a Senior Architectural Technologist is highly desirable.
