Job Description

Be the driving force behind safer smarter operations by empowering teams protecting people and driving excellence. Join us as a Regional HSE Specialist - field-based anywhere in the U.S. - and make every day count!

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Develop implement and continually improve safety programs to improve capability and capacity to drive HSE performance and compliance .
  • Proactively drive safety initiatives including leading indicator programs that foster a preventive approach to HSE performance.
  • Oversee incident claims from inception through to closure ensuring timely resolution and corrective actions towards future prevention.
  • Establish and enforce standardized environmental practices in alignment with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Track and report monthly HSE performance metrics working with a range of stakeholders including service center managers to implement operating procedures and reporting processes.

The Regional HSE Specialist serves as a critical partner to approximately 40 (TPM) sites across the United States driving excellence in Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance. Reporting directly to the SR HSE Manager North America this role provides expert guidance technical support and strategic direction to site leadership teams to ensure full compliance with Brambles/CHEP standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do:

Major/Key Accountabilities

Injury Reduction Strategy & Program Implementation:

  • Execute regional HSE initiatives aimed at reducing workplace injuries across approximately 40 TPM locations. Ensure alignment with corporate safety goals and drive measurable improvements in safety performance across all TPM sites.

Safety-Centered Equipment Design & Advocacy:

  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure plant equipment meets Brambles internal safety standards. Champion continuous improvement through engineering controls that enhance both equipment and personnel safety.

Regional Equipment Guarding & Tool Safety Enhancements:

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to upgrade equipment guarding and engineer safer tools and machines. Ensure consistency with regional HSE strategies and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Risk Identification & Prioritization:

  • Drive proactive risk management by leading workstation risk assessments across TPM sites. Facilitate the identification prioritization and mitigation of high-risk activities and conditions.

Regional HSE Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Serve as the primary HSE expert for the assigned region providing strategic guidance and technical support to site leadership teams. Influence decision-making and foster a culture of safety ownership.

Safety Management System Deployment & Audit Support:

  • Support multiple sites in sustaining a robust Safety Management System. Provide hands-on assistance with corrective actions resulting from internal and external audits ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) Integration:

  • Promote the Safety Differently philosophy by facilitating Learning Teams and embedding HOP principles into site-level safety practices. Empower frontline employees to contribute to safety solutions and continuous improvement.

Incident Management & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure timely reporting investigation and classification of all safety and environmental incidents in accordance with Brambles SOPs and applicable regulations. Develop and distribute incident reports and safety alerts to drive learning and prevention.

Data-Driven Safety Improvements:

  • Analyze Gap Audit results leading indicators internal audit findings and risk assessment data to identify trends and drive targeted safety improvements across the region.

What You Will Bring:

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in a Safety role as an individual contributor and or manager of people

Skills and Knowledge

  • Intimate and detailed knowledge of Health Safety and Environmental regulations in North America

  • Highly skilled in the use of the iCare EHS system (preferred)

  • Skilled communicator both oral and written and able to present effectively at all levels in the organization
