POSITION Union Lead Material Hazardous Waste Technician

HOURLY RATE: $43.05
Responsibilities
Performs and directs others in the operations of the Companys NASC facility and centralized substation
warehouse.
- Performs and directs others in the processing of junk transformers and other PCB equipment to assure that fluid is removed and other materials are handled in accordance with Federal requirements.
- Is responsible for maintaining all PCB Facility records that are subject to periodic inspection by State and Federal environmental agencies.
- Is required to prepare Federal and State manifests relating to the interstate transportation and disposal of PCB wastes fluids and equipment.
- Is required to make arrangements for shipments by PCB waste contractors to assure storage capacities are not exceeded.
- Is required to direct PCB facility and warehouse activities performed by stock handlers and other department personnel assigned to this work.
- Is required to direct and perform periodic facility inspections as established by the D.E.P. operating permit and Departmental procedures.
- Will be required to assure compliance by the Company and contract shippers with storm water detention system operating procedures at the Companys NASC facility.
- Is responsible to require proper oil handling procedures spill response and clean up by stock handlers and other personnel assigned to PCB facility and warehouse work.
- Is required to have a working knowledge of the MMS terminal operation.
- Is required to be able to operate mechanical equipment necessary to perform various job functions.
- Is required to have an extensive working knowledge of the oil processing system.
- Is required to perform all duties assigned stock handlers and other appropriate duties as directed.
- Lead person of all warehouse activities of NASC licenses hazardous waste operations and stock room.
- Expedites outside vendor services for transfer or disposal of PCB debris junking transformers oil disposal and other hazardous wastes.
- Directs annual inventory count.
- Handles special stock activity requests from staff or field areas.
- Perform/lead all related NASC facility repairs and related environmental requirements.
- Perform all related duties pertaining to NASC Hazardous Waste License.
- Clean up oil spills and process related record keeping.
- Must be able to perform on call duties periodically for one week.
Skills Requirements Education
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and preferable additional commercial training.
- Must have a valid CDL Class B Drivers License and any other permits or license requirements for the job.
- Must reside within an acceptable distance (45 minutes) from the regular reporting location or be willing to relocate within nine (9) months of transfer and be available for emergency assignments as needed.
- Must keep current with technology changes.
