Job Summary

Locum to Perm - Physician - Gastroenterology

Located in Springfield Massachusetts this practice is part of a well-established medical community that prioritizes patient care and professional growth. The facility offers a dynamic inpatient setting with a call structure of approximately 1:4 including floor ED ICU emergent consults and endoscopies when needed. Ideal candidates will enjoy a supportive environment with onsite labs and X-ray facilities catering to adult populations in a hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct gastroenterological examinations and procedures focusing on adult patients.
Perform required procedures including:
- Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
- Lower GI Endoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Liver Biopsy
Manage a patient load averaging 4-12 hospital-based patients per day.
Collaborate with a team of physicians to provide comprehensive care.
Utilize the EPIC documentation system for patient records.

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
Active Massachusetts Medical License.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience in performing specific upper GI endoscopies (e.g. with biopsy foreign body removal).
ERCP certification is a plus but not mandatory.

License and Certification Requirements

Active Massachusetts Medical License is required.
Board Certified/Board Eligible - Board Certification preferred.
BLS Certification required.
