Qualifications: To be considered for the Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor of Nursing candidates should possess the following qualifications:
Education: An earned masters degree in nursing. Individuals with a masters degree will be considered at the rank of instructor and individuals with a doctoral degree (e.g. DNP PhD) will be considered at the rank of assistant teaching professor. An earned doctorate degree will be a condition of continued employment after the fifth year for a candidate hired as an instructor.
Expertise: The preferred candidate will demonstrate expertise in medical-surgical nursing education and practice along with evidence of planning implementing and evaluating simulation-based learning experiences.
Experience: Candidates will demonstrate a strong record of teaching and clinical practice in medical-surgical nursing with specialization in advanced medical-surgical nursing
