Speech Pathologist: QualificationsValid Speech/Language Pathology LicenseCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Department of Education Educational Specialist Certificate #293(optional)Position Description Speech Pathologist-focus of caseload to be determinedResponsibilitiesGuide staff in observing describing and referring suspected & identified students with speech and language and hearing disordersServe as a resource to staff membersProvide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech and language disordersDevelop and implement appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet needs of children with identified speech language and hearing disabilitiesProvide therapy within the classroom setting or in a pullout model as appropriateCollaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy suggestions for individual students daily activitiesProvide information and support to parents and families when appropriateProvide in service education and serve as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech language and hearing as neededMaintain thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech/language servicesAssist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriateProvide screening to identify speech/language disabled students at regular intervals including kindergarten screening
