The Team

The Product and Operations team oversees a diverse portfolio of index productsincluding iconic benchmarks like the S&P 500setting strategic priorities that drive growth innovation and client value across S&P Dow Jones Indices.

Within this organization the Product Platforms Design team plays a central role in shaping user-centered scalable product platform experiences that power the full index lifecycle. We are a collaborative forward-looking team that blends product design and technology expertise to deliver intuitive integrated solutions with measurable business impact.

This role reports into the Product Platforms Design Lead for the Fixed Income Value Stream which underpins S&P DJIs Core Fixed Income Private Markets and Commodities franchises. The team partners closely with Product Technology and Index Operations to optimize workflows accelerate product delivery and enhance transparency across the full index lifecycle.

Responsibilities and Impact

The Product Platforms Design Product Owner Fixed Income is responsible for delivering user-centered technology-enabled solutions that optimize how fixed income private markets and commodities indices platforms are designed maintained and distributed. Working within an Agile team this role translates strategy and user insights into actionable product features that drive measurable efficiency and business value.

Key responsibilities include:

  • User Experience and Flow Design: Apply flow-based design thinking to create seamless intuitive user experiences across the fixed income index lifecycle from index creation through rebalancing and distribution on one or multiple platforms.

  • Backlog Ownership: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog for fixed income index platforms ensuring alignment with business strategy compliance standards and operational needs.

  • Execution Leadership: Write clear testable user stories that meet the Definition of Ready and Done supporting Agile sprint planning and delivery.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers designers and other Product Owners across Value Streams to manage dependencies and ensure consistent delivery across asset classes and systems.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Use structured feedback loops and customer advocacy to influence roadmap direction and drive continuous improvement across equity platform capabilities.

  • Delivery Excellence: Lead product demos contribute to MVP planning and support training and feature rollouts to maximize value realization for internal and external users.

This role contributes directly to the scalability accuracy and innovation of S&P DJIs fixed income private markets and commodities index operationsenabling seamless connectivity between data technology and client outcomes.

What Were Looking For

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Experience in product management or product ownership within an Agile and scaled Agile (SAFe) environment.

  • Ability to translate complex user and business requirements into actionable backlog items and deliverables.

  • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills to align stakeholders across Product Technology and Index Operations.

  • Data-driven approach to prioritization and decision-making balancing user value with technical feasibility.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and influence outcomes across teams.

  • Demonstrated curiosity and empathy in engaging with users to uncover insights and improve product usability.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of bond market structures commodities indices or private markets index operations or financial data workflows with the ability to connect business needs to product platform solutions.

  • Experience supporting fixed income and private markets index design calculation or distribution platforms.

  • Familiarity with data integrations workflow automation or index lifecycle tooling.

  • Exposure to financial technology platforms or cloud-based enterprise systems.

  • Understanding of product analytics feedback loops and continuous improvement methodologies.
