Head of Technical Excellence North EMEA

DS Smith is now hiring a Head of Technical Excellence for the North EMEA region.

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Technical Excellence Manager to lead asset management and technical excellence across North this role you will shape the asset management strategy develop a roadmap aligned with sub-regional objectives and provide specialist technical support throughout the full lifecycle of our core technologies.

The position combines sub-regional strategic oversight with close collaboration at the country level ensuring that site-level teams have the guidance and support needed to deliver world-class performance. You will manage the sub-regional capital portfolio prioritize resources effectively and monitor project progress risks and costs while fostering competence building and knowledge sharing across sites.

Together with site managers and country technical excellence managers you will drive improvements in corrugator and converting performance optimize maintenance strategies and costs and support site-level project collaboration with the Head of OpEx North EMEA you will ensure best practice sharing and implementation creating alignment between technical excellence and operational efficiency.

Strong stakeholder engagement is key to success in this role. You will work closely with site managers controllers procurement finance and the paper & board team to ensure strategies are delivered effectively across both the sub-region and individual country operations.

This role reports to Supply Chain & Operations Director North EMEA and can be based at either of our North EMEA sites.

Qualifications

Masters degree in engineering or similar
Strong background in manufacturing environments
In-depth experience in manufacturing combined with solid theoretical knowledge
Knowledge of related areas such as product development and operational excellence
Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management skills

You likely hold a similar local role today and are ready to increase your scope of responsibility to encompass the entire North EMEA region.

This role requires excellent language skills oral and written in English as well as an additional Baltic or Nordic language.
