McAuley Community Services for Women helps women and children who have faced family violence and homelessness to take control of their lives. Through a range of supports including accommodation legal health recreation and social responses we support women to leave us with restored capacity and greater opportunities for safe housing economic capability and wellbeing. We work alongside women and children recognising their strengths and fostering their resilience to create a new future.

This is a casual opportunity based in and around the Western Suburbs of Melbourne including opportunities in Ballarat within our Family Violence and Homelessness Program. The position reports to the Team Leader.


Are you passionate about creating safe empowering spaces for women and children escaping family violence Were looking for a compassionate and resilient Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated Family Violence program and provide critical person-centered support in our supported accommodation service.

This is more than just a job its an opportunity to make a tangible difference every single day. Youll walk alongside women and children as they rebuild their lives offering emotional support practical assistance and a steady presence during moments of crisis and recovery.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Provide tailored trauma-informed support that helps women and children feel safe heard and empowered.
  • Help bring their support plans to life from emotional recovery to building everyday living skills and increasing social connection.
  • Collaborate with a passionate team to deliver holistic high-quality care that puts families first.
  • Facilitate group programs and activities that promote healing learning and connection.
  • Contribute to safety planning crisis response and risk management including working with partner services such as mental health AOD police and child protection.
  • Participate in a solo and after-hours roster providing responsive support when its needed most.

  • Valid and current Drivers Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
