Call Center Customer Service Representative - Benefits Support
Location: East Hartford CT
Pay Rate:$21.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Ability to attend and train through the holidays (Christmas and New Years day off)

About the Role
We are hiring experienced Call Center Representatives to provide customer service and support for government benefit programs such as SNAP Food Stamps and Medicaid. This role involves assisting callers with inquiries about benefits eligibility and application status while maintaining empathy and professionalism at all times.

Candidates must be dependable compassionate and emotionally resilient as many callers may be experiencing difficult situations. If you have strong communication skills a calm demeanor and a passion for helping others we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle a high volume of inbound calls related to SNAP Food Stamps Medicaid and other benefit programs.
  • Provide accurate information and resolve customer inquiries with empathy and patience.
  • Enter and update customer data accurately within eligibility and case management systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all compliance and program guidelines.
  • Attend and successfully complete all training sessions including during the holiday season.
  • Meet performance goals for call quality documentation and response time.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a high-volume call center or customer service role (required).
  • Experience in healthcare social services or claims processing preferred.
  • Ability to handle difficult or emotional calls with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work through the holiday period.
  • Typing speed of 35 WPM (testing required).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
