Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Physical Sciences at Madonna University in Livonia Michigan invites applications for a full-time (9 month) faculty position beginning August 2025.
MADONNA UNIVERSITY is a Franciscan Catholic co-educational liberal arts university located in Livonia Michigan a western suburb of the metropolitan Detroit area. The growing student body of over 2000 students an exciting and diverse mix of traditional and non-traditional commuter and residential students representing all ages and ethnicities of Southeastern Michigan. THE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES provides foundational mathematics and science instruction supporting several majors across the University and within the core curriculum. Our programs are distinctive and the faculty are committed to student success. This Department is housed within the College of Arts and Sciences. Modern labs are located in an award-winning green (LEED certified) building.
RESPONSIBILITIES include a primary focus on teaching including lecture and laboratory courses in the areas of physics astronomy oceanography meteorology and earth science serving as the faculty education advising liaison for integrated science majors ongoing scholarly activity engaging in student-centered research projects conducting curriculum review supporting student recruitment and advising program assessment and evaluation and active participation in university governance and academic life.
QUALIFICATIONS include an earned doctorate in physics meteorology geology or a related field from an accredited school evidence of successful teaching at the college level a commitment to working collaboratively within the Madonna University community and strong interpersonal communication skills. Candidates with successful experience teaching and performing administrative duties at the college level will be given priority.
