Are you passionate about data quality and making a real impact Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is seeking a Senior Test Analyst to join our Insights & Analytics team. Youll play a key role in ensuring our information data analytics and reporting products meet the highest standards of accuracy integrity and reliability supporting evidence-based decisions that help connect people products and places across New Zealand. Youll test across modern BI platforms (Power BI Qlik Sense SSRS Databricks) validate data pipelines and models and help ensure our information products drive evidence-based decisions
As a Senior Test Analyst you will play a pivotal role in our team by undertaking a range of responsibilities including:
Test and assure quality in leading BI tools (PowerBI Databricks SSRS Qlik Sense)
Plan document and report on testing activities
Use automation and test frameworks to streamline regression testing in modern cloud environments
Assess reporting solutions for accuracy data quality and business requirements
Collaborate with developers and business teams to deliver robust solutions
Identify and resolve data issues supporting continuous improvement
Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance practices within the I&A team
Build strong relationships across the business and with external partners

To thrive in this role youll need to demonstrate a strong blend of technical expertise practical experience and interpersonal skills including:
5 years testing experience across diverse projects
Advanced SQL skills - ETL experience preferred
Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts (star schema data vault)
Experience in defect management and test automation tools
Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Relevant tertiary qualification or comparable experience
You will demonstrate knowledge of or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
