Coordinator, Multi-Department Crisis Response Team (MDCRT)

• Collaborate with city agency representatives to determine the appropriate response to crisis situations involving people who are homeless and/or homeless encampments.
• Lead and support implementation of City and/or County initiatives relating to outreach and street-based homelessness.
• Plan implement and evaluate projects and/or pilots including defining scope identifying support and available resources developing timelines and workplans and monitoring progress and documenting project.
• Participate in planning and coordination to incorporate trauma-informed policies and best practice outreach strategies including providing services through the Coordinated Entry System.
• Lead on agenda development and facilitate meetings with stakeholder groups.
• Prepare periodic reports as necessary or requested to track accomplishment of strategic goals and evaluate work performed.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to unit regarding SPA level gaps needs and areas for support related to outreach coordination.
• Represent LAHSA at city meetings.
• Assist in report development and submission per contractual requirements.
• Maintain professional relationships with City and County Departments and community groups.
• Maintain strong working relationships with A&E Supervisors/Coordinators to create efficient protocols in leveraging A&E resources in support of Encampment Resolution and Inside Safe Initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be computer literate and have strong verbal and written communications skills.

• Strong knowledge of the Coordinated Entry System and resources available through the continuums homeless services providers.
• Prior experience working with street-based teams.
• Strong analytical time-management skills and demonstrated ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
• Strong work ethic that serves as example in the department.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to work well independently and in groups.
• Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of LAHSAs HMIS.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking and writing skills are strongly preferred.

• Minimum two years experience in social services specifically working with homeless populations.
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work (or a related subject) preferred however relevant social service work experience including supervising staff and special projects may be substituted.

License Requirement

• A valid California Class C drivers license is required at the time of hire. Employees must have a good driving record for a minimum of three (3) years.

Residency Requirement: This position requires the employee to reside within the State of California. Proof of residency may be requested as part of the onboarding process to ensure compliance with organizational and operational requirements.
