Job Summary

Position Title: Dispatcher Reports to: General Manager

Employment Status: Full-time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade: Hourly

About the Role

The Dispatcher is responsible for acting as an intermediary between external partners drivers in the field and facility logistics to ensure the successful pick-ups and deliveries of products. This role will be the main point of contact for our drivers relaying information and updates.

Responsibilities

Manage daily dispatching of facility drivers for all pick-ups and vendor deliveries.
Work the logistics window to greet customers and vendors that visit the department.
Maintain contact with drivers tracking movements throughout the day to monitor schedules.
Coordinate with outside carriers to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries.
Ensure all required paperwork is obtained from drivers and vendors accurately submitting it into our system.
Assist in coordinating mulch pick-ups and CHEP returns.
Provide assistance with shipping and receiving in tracking inventory levels as needed.
Support facility leadership in managing the dispatch and order calendars.
Escalate matters to the Transportation Manager as needed.
Foster exceptional and collaborative partnerships with PLA staff vendors and customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

2 years of experience as a dispatcher or similar role.
Some knowledge of relevant DOT regulations.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Any combination of education and experience will be considered.

Physical & Environment

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Most duties are performed in a climate-controlled environment. Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment while in facility production areas.
