Scope:
This role will lead the HR Team for Procornea Manufacturing partnering with senior leaders and their HR Director for all HR tasks and involvement.
Job Summary:
To work directly with the leaders of Procornea Manufacturing plus the Senior HR Manager to co-design develop and deliver the Human Resource programmes and strategies. These are designed to support the smooth running and continuous progression of Manufacturing. The role will act as a trusted advisor to the respective Managers and their teams providing advice guidance and positive challenge to create the right culture for CooperVisions growth.
CooperVisions management team is committed to the development and implementation of the quality management system and maintaining its effectiveness by communicating to the organization the importance of meeting statutory and regulatory requirements as well as those of the customer.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage a team of HR professionals.
- Work closely with ER Specialist to deliver a legally compliant; consistent and efficient management of Employee Relations cases. As well as educating and coaching managers to ensure effective identification and resolution of employee relations issues and making recommendations to minimise re-occurrence of such issues.
- In collaboration with the Management Team and the HR Director contributing to the development of the operation by ensuring the HR strategy (VMOST) is directly aligned to the overall business strategy and the HR Long Range Strategic Plan (LRSP).
- Recommending and implementing processes that aid the communication and dissemination of the corporate vision and values.
- Using appropriate resourcing strategies and tools to ensure the effective attraction and retention of high quality candidates and participating in the selection of managers and other key roles.
- Ongoing evaluation and development of reward and recognition strategies and interventions.
- Providing expert advice and support to leaders and managers on the full range of HR issues consulting or working in conjunction with other HR colleagues and external consultants as necessary.
- In collaboration with appropriate specialists in Occupational Health be the lead for absence control ensuring that appropriate policies practices (e.g. through the use of FirstCare) and measures are in place to control absences addressing long term and short-term absences in the most appropriate way.
- In liaison and collaboration with the Learning and Development team and operational leaders ensuring that appropriate competencies are trained measured and sustained.
- Introducing and adapting corporate policies and initiatives based upon best practice and ensuring legal compliance for Operations in the UK in all aspects of HR Management.
- Helping to embed a performance management culture to drive business improvement
- Responsible for employee advocacy ensuring the application of fair and consistent people policies and procedures across all functional areas.
- Responsible for ensuring the data integrity of the HR systems. Participating in the development of CooperVisions Global HR strategy projects. Project managing or providing input into other projects as necessary; new HR technologies including Oracle HCM Profiles Taleo plus the Employee Development Review (EDR) Wellness etc.
- Act as a confidential counsellor and coach to members of the management team.
- Contributing to the leadership of the HR function in CooperVision through the development of shared HR strategies sharing of learning/best practice adherence to agreed procedures and the support of fellow HR team members.
- Develop and design HR Dashboard of HR Metrics to support focus on priorities.
- Promoting employee wellbeing so that employees remain productive and effective.
- Being a main point of contact for all Customer & regulatory bodies-initiated audits requiring HR input e.g. Walmart FDA etc.
Travel Requirement:
Travel is likely within this role for EMEA meetings but no more than 10%. Frequent travel to other sites is expected.
Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential along with the ability to analyse complex issues and recommend and implement practical solutions.
- Strong data/numerical skills
- A strong down to earth approach to people culturally aware flexible and pragmatic
- Demonstrable experience in the following areas:
- Organisation design and effectiveness
- Talent Management
- Performance Management
- Organisation Development
- Employee Relations
- Reward UK compensation
- Proven managerial planning and change process skills
Work Environment
- Normal office environment.
- Extensive contact with employees and outside vendors.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to cover 24/7 operations.
Experience:
- Solid and varied progressive experience in Human Resources in a variety of environments.
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural HR Generalist role.
- Strong Employee Relations expertise.
- Proven ability on coaching /managing a team.
Education
- Ideally MCIPD level or CIPD qualified (Level 7) or equivalent
Degree in a Business Management related subject.
