Position Objective:
The Ponderosa Lodge (PL) Administrative Coordinator has oversight of all administrative needs at PL and is responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship nurturing spiritual growth of campers and staff through facilitation of program activities and curriculum in a manner consistent with MHAs mission vision and values.
General Qualifications:
The Ponderosa Lodge (PL) Administrative Coordinator is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work stewardship relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association Inc.s (MHA) mission vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining cultivating and leading MHAs Christian community conference programs and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of the office area.
- Perform and direct all office duties and/or lead staff in those duties.
- Act as communication liaison with Registration and Event Services for performance of all registration duties and cabin assignments as well as print needs with Marketing.
- Oversee the team who manages retail areas of camp (PL Fountain and PL Camp Store.)
- Work alongside the PL Maintenance team and PL Dining team and help coordinate any of the logistics and responsibilities that pertain to those areas of camp.
- Meet daily with the PL leadership team and supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Ponderosa Lodge.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Qualifications
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
- College graduate preferred
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified (before arriving at camp)
- Current valid drivers license and a clean driving record required
Work Experience:
- Prior experience and leadership in youth programming with a strong background in ministry leadership. Leadership experience with junior high high school and college-aged students.
- Prior experience in camping ministry having served in various roles.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture
- Ability to demonstrate a personal committed and thought-through faith in Christ
- Attention to detail and follow-through creative flexible and able to adjust to challenges of the program
- Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities
Physical Demands:
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold wet/humid and dry/arid conditions. Requires seeing hearing talking sitting standing squatting stooping twisting and hiking. |
Additional Requirements/Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.
- Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHAs Mission Vision Values and Commitment statements.
- Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
- Commitment to being part of the leadership team within the camp community and investing in staff during camp sessions and weekends.
- Commitment to spending time serving campers and helping to create a great experience for them.
- Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
