Job Description
Camels Hump Middle School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our school nutrition team! This key role coordinates all aspects of our food service program ensuring we provide delicious nutritious meals while supporting our strong commitment to the local food system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production & Service: Coordinate daily food production preparation and service for breakfast and lunch for all students and staff.
- Administration: Manage menu planning inventory control food and supply ordering and accurate record-keeping.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all federal school lunch guidelines and manage specific student health and allergy needs.
- Team Leadership: Oversee food safety sanitation and manage some financial aspects of the kitchen.
- Farm to School: Collaborate with staff and the community to support and enhance our Farm to School program.
Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a passion for nutrition team leadership and collaboration.
Required Experience and Skills:
- High level of professional cooking experience.
- Experience with food ordering.
- Experience in leadership or team oversight.
- Experience or interest in working in a school setting including engaging with students during meal service supporting nutritional education efforts and fostering a positive inclusive cafeteria environment.
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers highly desirable hours and a competitive compensation package.
- Schedule: Approximately 3540 hours per week 178 days per year (all major holidays summers nights and weekends off).
- Benefits: We offer an excellent benefits package including paid time off medical dental and life insurance and a competitive salary.
- Work Environment: Enjoy a supportive collaborative work environment flexible scheduling and a great team atmosphere!
- Salary Range: $18.30 - $24.84 shift differential
