Were looking for a Project Director Contamination Assessment and Remediationbased in our office in Vancouver BC. The ideal candidate will be someone who can make decisions and be proactive in prevention control and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines like waste treatment site remediation or pollution control technology in addition to building and nurturing solid client relationships and helping drive sustainable revenue growth in the region.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Needs Assessment: Working with the business group leader uncover emerging issues or needs identifying potential causes barriers and key stakeholders as well as related issues.
- Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing business practices then suggest and implement improvements while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organizations change management program. Involves working with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Culture of Innovation: Drive a culture of innovation by creating multistakeholder solutions that boost creativity innovation and collaboration across business units.
- Contaminated Sites Investigation and Remediation Design: Design (or enable others while being accountable for) engineering and scientific solutions to bring sites through to closure through investigation remediation and/or risk assessment that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
- Knowledge Management: Develop policies and processes create best practices set up case studies and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices in a particular area of expertise and to support the practice.
- Health Safety Quality and Environment: Monitor and review performance against health safety quality and environment key performance indicators (KPIs) and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility. Take action to improve performance and to resolve noncompliance with the organizations policies procedures and mandatory instructions.
- Technical Developments Recommendation: Completing and contributing to Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments implementing remediation techniques and developing management strategies in addition to discussing and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to improve the quality of the supporting infrastructure to better meet users needs.
- Professional Supervision: Lead and oversee the provision of professional supervision to ensure that there is effective professional supervision that supports practitioners professional development and embeds reflective practice. Implement and supervise the resourcing systems and processes to ensure timely delivery of services meeting client requirements and budgets with strong technical authority.
- Project Management: Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to the (BGL) Business Group Leader. The portfolio will include both federally regulated and provincially regulated projects for several clients; however experience working with Defense Construction Canada is an asset.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Manage important client relationships including federal clients and engaging with industry networks; working with the BGL to ensure the team is functioning to deliver an enhanced client experience.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor and/or masters degree in environmental science
- Registered with a professional designation in BC (e.g. or or )
- 10 - 20 years of experience with contaminated assessments and remediation
- Knowledge of provincial and federal legislation and regulatory requirements surrounding contaminated sites
- Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational ability
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Valid drivers license
Salary range:$102000 - $167000 based on experience.
