Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking a Facilities Engineering Lead to lead and grow the Mid-Atlantic division (Maryland DC and Virginia). This role will involve managing all aspects of a multi-disciplined design team with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. This is your opportunity to help shape and grow a department delivering projects that improve local infrastructure schools healthcare facilities and commercial developments across the Mid-Atlantic (Maryland DC Virginia) division.

In this leadership role you will provide oversight and guidance across civil (land development) landscape architecture building structures and MEP disciplines while collaborating with established facilities engineering teams in Maryland and across the country to deliver impactful community-focused projects.

This position can be located anywhere in Virginia.

Your responsibilities as a Facilities Engineering Lead will include:

• Department Leadership:Lead and oversee technical team managers across multiple disciplines providing comprehensiveproject and program oversight.
• Technical Direction:Guide multidisciplinary teams usingindustry standardsandbest practicesto solve complex project challenges and deliver high-quality results.
• Project Management:Manage and executeprojects of all sizes taking full ownership from concept through completion.
• Division Expertise:Serve as atechnical expertandthought leader representing the division within Kleinfelder and the broader industry.
• Department Growth:Drive business growth througheffective budget managementresource planning andstrategic development initiatives.
• Business Development:Expand theFacilities/Civil business lineby identifying new opportunities and leadingstrategic growth activities.
• Client Engagement:Develop and maintain strongclient relationships ensuring responsiveness and alignment with client needs and market demands.
• Proposal & Technical Oversight:Leadproposal preparation includingpricing strategiesandtechnical evaluations positioning the team for project wins.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in structural engineering mechanical engineering electrical engineering architectural engineering or architecture.
• 9 years of experience in engineering design or related technical disciplines.
• Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple teams and deliverables.
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to develop mentor and grow team members.
• Solid understanding of business strategies with the ability to leverage business acumen to meet client needs and position services effectively.
• Ability to recruit retain and develop high-end technical talent within a dynamic organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License registered in the state of Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) License registered in the state of Maryland and DC.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
