Sr Technical Program Manager, Senior Leader Experience Workforce Planning

We develop philosophies mechanisms and products that guide leaders to inspect and make data-driven decisions to improve their organizational operating models and plans to guide their outlook year for workforce composition

SLX is looking for an exceptional Sr Technical Program Manager with strategic expertise and a strong delivery record in building trust and delivering results to the business to advance adoption and effective use of Workforce Planning(WFP) across Amazon. Moreover this role will work in partnership with the core SLX Work Force Planning (WFP) team that requires thought leadership to advance WFP capability across Amazon. This individual has proficiency in employing workforce insights strong business operations fundamentals and good judgement. This individual will also provide thought leadership and program management against current and future technical capabilities and programs that enable the acceleration of revenue growth improved operational efficiencies & delivery. Ultimately the individual will be responsible for a program level effort to enable optimized workforce size location and level in service of predictably accelerating product innovation and enhancing the customer experience at acceptable cost. Key job responsibilities
* Work directly with senior leaders in the Workforce Planning team while partnering with Finance HR and business leadership to manage creation of tools and processes that support the one- and three-year workforce plans in cadence with Amazon operational cycles
* Earns trust with internal stakeholders and customers and develops collaborative solutions that create measurable economic impact within Amazon.
* Leverage deep knowledge of workforce planning methodologies data sources and practices. Applies this technical knowledge to invent evolve improve and simplify.
* Drive large-scale workforce planning programs that solve significantly complex or endemic problems.
* Consistently bring strong data-driven business and technical judgment to decisions.
* Recognize when designs/solutions require additional technical guidance (e.g. from senior practitioners or subject matter experts).
* Advocate for and guide workforce programs. Influence teams to dedicate resources and lead the effort (or finds appropriate owner).
* Capture the right metrics to influence stakeholders and measure success.
* Occasional travel to internal meetings and fact-finding sessions.



A day in the life
As a Sr TPM within Amazon you will partner across the WFP team to set the vision and direction for a high-quality workforce. You will play a key role on the Workforce Planning Science Tooling and Inspection sub-teams that influence the long-range plans of the business and the technical agenda that supports it. You will influence tools and programs serving senior leaders globally and impacting Amazon future.

The ideal candidate has a strong sense of ownership is self-driven loves breaking new ground. You will bring a mix of experience including complex senior stakeholder management cross-functional collaboration strategic planning operational planning and process improvement.

- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
- Masters degree or above in math/statistics/engineering or other equivalent quantitative discipline or a Associates degree or above and experience with data analysis package (R SAS Matlab etc.)
- Experience with analytical tools and ability to dive deep into metrics and reporting
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives IT management and developers
- Experience dealing well with ambiguity prioritizing needs and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
- * Experience setting technical requirements for process automation

- Experience engaging and influencing senior executives demonstrating a strong familiarity with decision-making processes in enterprise customers
- Experience in solving business problems through machine learning data mining and statistical algorithms
- * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (ability to present detailed technical analysis assumptions and recommendations succinctly)
- * Experience with making large scale optimization and predictive models
- * Meets/exceeds Amazons leadership principles requirements for this role
- * Meets/exceeds Amazons functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
