RN- Obstetrics / Gynecology (Night Shift) Location: Oswego NY 13126
Duration: 8-weeks Contract
Shift: 12-hr Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekly Pay: $2700 - $2952; (Negotiable based on experience)
Job Description:
The Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN) will be responsible for providing care to patients in labor and delivery postpartum and nursery settings. The RN will work in a Level 1 nursery and assist with all aspects of maternal care including labor management and postpartum recovery. This position is for a night shift schedule requiring the ability to handle high-stress situations and provide exceptional patient care during critical times.
Responsibilities:
- Labor & Delivery Care: Provide hands-on care to patients during labor and delivery monitoring vital signs assisting with the birth process and ensuring the health and safety of both mother and baby.
- Postpartum Care: Provide post-delivery care to the mother including monitoring recovery providing education and supporting breastfeeding.
- Nursery Care: Assist with newborn care in a Level 1 nursery including assessments administering treatments and providing support to families.
- Collaboration: Work with a multidisciplinary team including OB/GYN doctors anesthesiologists and other nursing staff to provide optimal care.
- Documentation: Complete all required documentation in Meditech and GE EMR systems.
Required Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in Obstetrics Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care.
- Licensure: Must have an active New York State RN license in hand.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Preferred Certification: Fetal monitoring certification (not required but preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Meditech and GE Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
