Job Summary
Squareshot is a tech-enabled product photography service based in New York.
Were looking for an experienced e-commerce photographer to capture high-quality product and model imagery for top DTC brands. Youll work across a wide range of categories from fashion and beauty to jewelry and accessories creating visuals that align with Squareshots aesthetic and commercial standards. Youll work closely with our Producer and Studio Assistant and collaborate with stylists models and art directors to produce consistent scalable and high-performing visuals.

This job is Full-time in Brooklyn NY.
Tasks
What youll do
- Plan and execute product and model shoots from pre-production to delivery ensuring Squareshots visual standards.
- Photograph a wide range of products and models with consistent lighting styling and composition.
- Collaborate with the Studio Admin Remote Producer Art Director and Retouchers to plan and deliver projects efficiently.
- Participate in client briefings and kickoff calls providing photography expertise time estimates and technical recommendations.
- Prepare sets and resources confirm gear lighting props and studio readiness.
- Review image quality before delivery and ensure all outputs meet Squareshots standards.
- Oversee and guide freelancers on set onboard supervise and provide feedback to ensure consistency.
- Assist in workflow efficiency by identifying bottlenecks suggesting improvements and supporting the Ops Manager in maintaining a steady production pace.
- Test and improve lighting setups shooting techniques and creative approaches to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Represent Squareshot to clients in-studio discussing creative direction and addressing any technical or production questions.
Requirements
Must-have skills
- 3 years of experience in studio-based product and model photography.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating consistent lighting clean composition and brand alignment.
- Deep understanding of e-commerce photography standards (angles color accuracy speed).
- Proficiency with studio lighting DSLR/mirrorless systems and Capture One.
- Sense of light color and detail across materials and textures.
- Ability to plan and execute shoots independently while collaborating with a creative team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with video motion or GIF production.
- Understanding retouching and color correction.
- Understanding of creative direction and marketing-driven imagery.
- Comfort working with AI-assisted photography tools.
- Experience managing Studio Assistants or small production teams.
