Job Title:Accountant
Location: Remote (Aligned to U.S. Time Zones CST preferred)
Work Hours: Full-Time U.S. CST Hours
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Accountant with strong billing experience to manage daily accounting operations and ensure monthly billings are accurate and timely. The ideal candidate has a background in construction or manufacturing thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle both tactical bookkeeping tasks and higher-level financial coordination with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable including vendor bills approvals coding and collections.
Prepare and submit construction progress billings (AIA forms G702 and G703).
Coordinate lien waiver collection and compliance documentation.
Create and send invoices track receipts and reconcile payments.
Support payroll preparation and journal entries.
Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly reconciliations.
Prepare monthly billing summaries completed contract reports and related spreadsheets.
Work within QuickBooks Online and Energy (cloud-based ERP for woodworking) to maintain accurate data.
Collaborate with the Controller and ownership team to deliver timely financial reporting and cash flow visibility.
Assist with process cleanup automation and documentation to improve accuracy and speed.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
48 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (construction or manufacturing preferred).
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
Solid understanding of progress-based invoicing and construction terminology (AIA docs G702/703 lien waivers).
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables formulas and data analysis.
Familiarity with APIs for report creation and system integration a plus.
Experience with or ability to learn Energy ERP.
Strong attention to detail ability to meet deadlines and minimal supervision required.
Excellent English communication skills for internal team coordination (not client-facing).
Clear and proactive communication style with a service-oriented mindset.
